Glentoran suffered a shock defeat against an impressive Killymoon Rangers team. The game played in a sun drenched Mid Ulster Sports Arena.
The game marked the 35th Anniversary of Killymoon Rangers, who finished 2nd in the Mid-Ulster Intermediate League in the 2005-2006 season. With a new management duo in charge, the Rangers players didn’t let themselves down in front of a large crowd of around 500.
Killymoon were the first to threaten, a long throw in was headed just past McLaughlin's post who had all his angles covered. This kicked the Glens into a bit of action, the impressive BJ McMenamin enjoying space out on the left wing fired in a cross only for young Daley Carnduff to head wide.
After a number of successive corners from BJ, Paul Leeman playing in the unfamiliar midfield role these days, had a close range snap shot saved.
On 28 minutes Killymoon took a surprise lead, after some great link up play down the right and into the box Bogan drilled a shot into Ciaran McLaughlin's bottom left hand corner to make it Killymoon 1-0

During the half time interval Paul Millar withdrew young left back Aaron McCusker and brought on Chris Morgan.
Starting off brightly Gary Hamilton soon broke into the left hand side of the box to dispatch a goal bound shot from a tight angle which beat the keeper but unfortunately headed out for another corner by the Killymoon defence.
Killymoon started to exploit the space on the left wing and had two quick fire chances, the first hitting the side netting, the second a minute later after a Nixon slice was saved at the feet of the striker by a vocal McLaughlin.

Glentoran continued to ring the changes with Michael Halliday coming on for David Brotherston.
But the final word of the day went to the home side, after Colin Nixon was caught in possession in his own half, the impressive Killymoon number 9went on a mazy run. Having a shot blocked, he seemed to find the space to walk round half the defence again before unleashing an impressive shot which brought a parry from McLaughlin, unfortunately to the feet of Bogan, who had a tap-in from 2 yards.
