Management Change

It is all change on the management front at Killymoon Rangers. After their first season in the IFA Championship both joint managers Mark and Michael Wilson have decided not to re-apply to stay on for the forthcoming season. It was expected that Michael would be staying on for another season as he had already secured a replacement for Mark, who was stepping down, but after considering his family and work responsibilities, Michael decided that he currently could not make the time commitment required in managing a club at this level. Michael's vast experience will be missed at Killymoon and in a letter read out at the AGM he informed the Committee of his reasons for stepping down and said 'I sincerely hope that Killymoon can build on the firm basis and rich crop of young players which Mark and I have left behind and that future success for the club comes quick and fast.'

Mark had informed the Committee at the beginning of last season that he would be taking a step back from the management side after 3 seasons as joint manager with his brother Michael, following 4 seasons as Rodney Montgomery’s assistant. Mark however, will not be leaving the club he joined as a player in 1990 as he has accepted the role as Vice-Chairman at last week’s Annual General Meeting.

The Committee passed on their thanks to both Michael and Mark for all their hard work during their reign as managers.

Killymoon's reserve team are also on the look-out for a new manager after George Dardis informed the Committee that he would also be stepping down to concentrate on his playing career. George finished on a high after leading his side to promotion during his year in charge. The Committee also extended their thanks to George in addition to welcoming him onto the Committee for the forthcoming season.

Anyone interested in managing either team should contact Secretary, David Reid, in writing at 24 Milburn Avenue, Cookstown, BT80 8BU or by phone on 07769815933 by Thursday 11th June.
