8 March 2010 "We're a family club", that’s what you will hear from many people when describing their club, but Cookstown side Killymoon Rangers are in no doubt that this tag applies to them.  The Ladbrokes Championship 2 side were formed in 1971 and many local players have pulled on the Killymoon shirt with the older readers from Cookstown remembering the names such as Young, McPartland, Brown and Crooks from the Killymoon sides in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s.  Now these names are again prominent at the club with their sons proudly following in their father’s footsteps by representing their local side. full story

8 March 2010 This Saturday Killymoon travel to Tobermore United, who rediscovered their early season form last Saturday with a comprehensive victory away to Annagh United. Suspensions continue to impact on manager Don Smyth’s side with Lee Hunter the player to miss out this time, but Ali Young will be available again after serving his one match ban. The game kicks-off at 3pm.

7 March 2010 Everyone at Killymoon would like to wish former player and committee member a speedy recovery from his recent knee operation. William suffered the injury playing for Killymoon against Ballyclare Comrades last season and was forced into premature retirement. William is probably already contemplating pulling the boots back on if the operation is a success, but since his injury he has got married, so enjoy your retirement Willie!

7 March 2010 Don Smyth suffered a blow to his squad at the start of the month when Warren Smith informed him that he would not be available for the first team again due to work commitments. Warren, who first came to the club as a goalkeeper in 1997, but made a name when he was converted to a centre forward becoming Killymoon’s all-time leading marksman, He regularly hit over 30 goals per season in the Mid-Ulster League and this season he is currently the second highest scorer in Championship 2 and third in all competitions. Warren had to overcome a bad leg break a number of years ago and on his first game back he scored 8 times against Mountnorris. Warren has been a great servant to the club and Don will have a difficult task finding a natural goalscorer to fill the void. Everyone at the club wishes Warren the very best as he takes over as manager of the new Asda store due to open in Antrim, but he has promised that he would still turn out for the club if he is available (and if he is selected).

The event begins at 9pm and there will be 8 races with each race consisting of 8 horses. A bonus race will also be held on the night, so there will be plenty of chances to get involved on the night.
  Stephen Purvis
Stephen Purvis intends to silence the taunts of his team mates, who say he can't tell the difference between a donkey and a race horse, by doing some homework prior to this Saturday's 'Night @ the Races' in Martin's Bar.

20 Feb 2010 Wakehurst 4 Killymoon Rangers 2 (P McElhatton 2) match report. After defeating league leaders Dundela, Killymoon were unable to take their home form on the road as they put in another poor performance against a solid Wakehurst side. Scoring 2 late goals couldn’t cover over the cracks of a disappointing performance by the Cookstown side, who will be looking to extend their winning streak a home to 5 games when they entertain PSNI at the Sports Arena, kick-off 3pm. This will be a tough game as PSNI have been picking up some good results of late and comfortably beat Killymoon in the corresponding fixture earlier in the season in Belfast.

20 Feb 2010 Magherafelt Sky Blues 2nds 3 Killymoon Rangers 2nds 0. The Reserves poor run of form continued on Saturday when they were comprehensively beaten by Magherafelt Sky Blues 3 nil. Stephen Warwick will be looking for a marked improvement for this Saturday’s away fixture against Camlough Swifts in the 3rd round of the Linda Welshman Cup.

30 Jan 2010
It took some hard work by the ground staff at the Sports arena, with special thanks to Gerard, to ensure that last Saturday’s game went ahead and Killymoon were glad it did securing a 4-1 victory. Despite taking the Cookstown side a while to get going, once the first goal went in they started to show the form that they displayed in the previous game against Sport & Leisure. Willie Ferguson made his debut for Killymoon and showed in the second half that he could be another shrewd signing by the manager. match report v Chimney Corner
Killymoon face a tough test this weekend when they travel to Castlederg to face one of the title challengers Dergview. Dergview won the corresponding fixture at the Sports Arena with a late goal and are one of the form teams in the league at the minute, scoring plenty of goals in the process. At the time of going to press the game is scheduled for Friday with kick-off time at 8pm.
It doesn’t get any easier the following week when Killymoon entertain Dundela at the Sports Arena. The away fixture earlier in the season saw the East Belfast side fight back from 2 goals down to claim victory in an action packed match, but the actions/comments of the Dundela management side left a lot to be desired and a bad taste after the game. It is hoped that this fixture will be played without the similar incidents.

30 Jan 2010 Killymoon Reserves travelled to Glebe Reserves last Saturday and came away with a commendable 2 all draw, but manager Stephen Warwick will be disappointed after his side took a 2 goal lead, through goals from Leon Abraham and Stuart Donaghy. This Saturday they entertain Newtownabbey FC at Fairhill 2pm kick off

27 Jan 2010 Despite the attraction of the Carling Cup semi-final between Man Utd and Man City, 13 teams turned up to do battle at Killymoon’s general knowledge quiz, sponsored by The Mint Café Bar. After 8 rounds it was the ‘50p Heads’ who were crowned champions ahead of ‘The Shy Teds’, with ‘Dead Last’ coming in 3rd. The winners were made up of Kenny and David Reid, Ian Wylie and Phil Gray, proving that despite what some people might think there is some intelligence behind the scenes at Killymoon (either that or they cheated!!) Killymoon would like to thank The Mint Café Bar for sponsoring the quiz, all those who assisted on the night and to everyone who took part making the evening a huge success.

16 Jan 2010 Annagh United 3 Killymoon Rangers 2. The Killymoon players returned from Portadown bitterly disappointed and pointless after letting a 2 goal lead slip at Annagh United. match report

16 Jan 2010 Killymoon Rangers Reserves 3 v Ballyclare Comrades Reserves 2. Stephen Warwick was full of praise for his Reserve side that emerged winners from a 5 goal thriller against one of the league's top sides Ballyclare Comrades Reserves. match report

15 Jan 2010 Lucky 4 draw was held last night, 8, 20, 22, 24. The jackpot was not won. Stephen Purvis won £10.00 for having 3 numbers. The next draw will take place on Thursday 11th February with the jackpot at £350.00.

13 Jan 2010 A table quiz will be held at the Mint Café Bar on Wednesday 27th January. More details will be released through the press nearer the date and also on the website

13 Jan 2010 Conall Kilpatrick made it a hat-trick of Mint Cafe Bar, player of the month awards, when he won the prize for December. Conall has formed a good understanding with fellow centre half Stephen McElhatton this season and has been Killymoon's most consistent player. 'Big C' will be hoping that he can keep up his form for the remainder of the season and add a few goals for good measure.

3 Jan 2010 All Committee members are reminded that the next meeting will take place in the Mint Café Bar on Tuesday 12th January.

2 Jan 2010 The freezing conditions last weekend resulted in Killymoon's home game against H&W Welders being postponed. The weather has also restricted training and to further add to the frustration of the management and players there is no game scheduled for this weekend.

2 Jan 2010 The Reserves were also left kicking their heels last Saturday as their game against FC Larne was also postponed. This Saturday they travel to Raceview in the league.
