Killymoon suffered their first defeat of the season when they lost 1 nil at AFC Craigavon. After a sluggish start the visitors fell behind on 20 minutes when some slack defending allowed an AFC player to get space on the edge of the penalty area and shot low into the corner of the Killymoon net. The home side showed more hunger than their opposition in the first half with Killymoon struggling to do the simple things well.

The second half saw a much improved performance from Killymoon but they found it difficult to play any flowing football as the referee let the home side away with some crude tackles and this continued for the rest of the game. Frustration then crept into the Killymoon players and they also started to put in some poor challenges which were also let away by the young referee as the match became increasingly difficult to officiate. An AFC player was dismissed in the final minutes, however this was too little too late. Despite having most of the possession Killymoon never really tested the AFC keeper and the only consolation for Killymoon was that they finished the match with 11 players on the pitch. With Steven McElhatton injured, Killymoon will be hoping that William Montgomery’s injury will not rule him out of this Saturday’s return against AFC in the Premier Cup.
