Killymoon put in a much improved performance this week as they progressed to the 2nd round of the Premier Cup. Last Saturday AFC won the league encounter 1 nil, but the visitors looked a different team as they closed their opponents down from the first whistle and created the best chances. Warren Smith opened the scoring after 22 minutes when David McMullan won the ball in the midfield and fed Smith who outpaced his marker and chipped the advancing keeper for his third goal of the season. AFC nearly got back into the match shortly after when indecision in the Killymoon defence gave a home forward a sight of goal but he screwed his shot wide when well positioned. Francisco Gomes set up Killymoon’s second after 35 minutes when he got to the AFC by-line and picked out Daryl Flanagan who made no mistake from 8 yards.
