| The official opening of the Reds new pitch. On Thursday 30th July Killymoon will make the short journey to Magherafelt to play Magherafelt Reds in the opening of their new pitch. The Reds, managed by former Killymoon player Gary Brown, will provide a tough test for Killymoon in preparation for the start of the Ladbrokes.com Championship. |

| The lead up to the start of the season produced some mixed results for Killymoon. A visit to Magherafelt Reds saw the home side starting strongly and went closest to opening the scoring when they hit the crossbar. After 15 minutes Killymoon did break the deadlock when Conal Kilpatrick headed in from close range after a long throw from David McMullan. Lee Hunter doubled the lead before half time with a cracking left foot shot from 20 yards. Further goals from David McMullan (2) and Johnny Young in the second half completed a good run out for Killymoon. |
