Killymoon started the better of the two teams and had a chance in the opening minutes to take the lead. Leading marksman Warren Smith found himself free in the box. Unable to shoot, he laid the ball back to Ali Young, who shot over. Cameron Stewart had a shot blocked by the home defence following a Gareth McGaw cross. It was all Killymoon in the opening stages of the match, as Stephen Purvis flicked on a long throw from Jason Ferry. Ali Young was next to try his luck with another shot that went wide. Following a Sport + Leisure attack, Killymoon broke and a good ball from Ali Young set up Jason Ferry who shot wide. On 15 minutes, a Killymoon corner was cleared to the edge of the box, were Jason Ferry met the ball and his shot went over the bar. Killymoon deservedly took the lead on 17 minutes. A Stephen Purvis cross was miskicked by the defender and a deft touch from Cameron Stewart put the ball past the keeper (1-0). Within two minutes Sport + Leisure were level and for the second match running, Killymoon were caught napping as Darren Gallagher took a quick free kick and scored (1-1). The goalkeeper won a race to the ball, with Warren Smith closing in on goal. Stephen Purvis then had a back header saved on the line from a Killymoon free kick. A slip in the Killymoon defence let in D Gallagher, but this time the big striker shot wide. On 27 minutes Darren Gallagher gave Sport + Leisure the lead. A free kick into the Killymoon box was half cleared and the big striker scored at the second attempt (1-2). Sport + Leisure were now on top after a slow start and almost went further ahead after they broke the Killymoon off side trap, M Brown making a save to deny the forward. Killymoon were back on level terms on 32 minutes. Ali Young scored with a direct free kick from the edge of the box (2-2). Ali Young then went close to giving Killymoon the lead. Following a throw in, his first two shots were blocked and the third attempt went over the bar. Ali then broke the offside trap and the goalkeeper raced out of goal to clear the danger. Heagney and Moore were booked for the home team. In stoppage time at the end of the first half, Ciaran McMullan lobbed the ball over Michael Brown to give Sport + Leisure an undeserved half time lead (2-3).
Garrth McGaw shot his shot deflected for a throw-in in the first minute of the second half, before M Brown saved a minute later. Cameron Stewart was off target from a corner, as was Jason Ferry, after midfield partner Gareth McGaw, played him in behind the home defence. McMullan shot wide for Sport + Leisure. Gareth McGaw then hit the wall with a free kick. Darren Gallagher got his hat-trick on 70 minutes. Killymoon gave the ball away and the big striker scored at the near post (2-4). Sport + Leisure substitute Jamie Diamond added number 5 in the 73rd minute (2-5), before Heagney was sent off on 75 minutes for a second yellow card. There were no further goals in the final 15 minutes, although both teams had half chances. The final whistle saw Killymoon end their season, with another defeat, despite a good first half performance. Full Time; Sport + Leisure 5, Killymoon Rangers 2.
