The Reserves first run out of the season gave managers Warwick and Fluke a chance to run their eyes over several new additions to the club at Rugby Avenue Coleraine against a very useful Mountview side.Clark Hill, Craig Martin and John O'Neill performed well on their debuts with Andy Rea, last season's top goal-scorer, grabbing a stunning opener on the half hour mark.
Great chances fell to young O'Neill up front who saw a shot from an accute angle roll right across the goal line with Marty Daly striking a thunderous volley off the cross bar. Killymoon 'Old Boy' Jim Hardy had a twenty minute cameo role for his former club Mountview showing everyone he hadn't lost his 'old guile' on the pitch even if he has lost a yard or three of pace.
Goals from Hart on the hour mark and McGarvey two minutes from time sealed Mountview's victory despite good opportunities falling to O'Neill, Reid,Campbell and Brown. A good run out for the Reserves with plenty of positives despite the result.
