After a confidence building win against Grimsby Town the previous Thursday evening, managers Warwick and Fluke were hoping for a professional performance against local rivals Cookstown Athletic in a friendly at Fairhill.
For twenty minutes the Reserves played some neat football with good chances falling to Kevin O'Neill and Marty McCormack. But it was Athletic who took the lead on the half hour after Moon's defence failed to clear their area twice in quick succession.
Athletic dominated proceeding up to half time and into the second half and it wasn't long before they hit their second. This spurred Killymoon into action with O'Neill beating three defenders to slot home from ten yards. Great work down the left on 75 minutes resulted in a fine finish by Chris Burns from fifteen yards as the Reserves took the game by the scruff of the neck.
Graham Brown should have won the game on eighty minutes as he controlled a lovely through ball only to drag his shot wide from twelve yards.
A game of two halves!
