After a somewhat mediocre pre-season the Reserves finally put in a performance against one of the top sides in Reserve Division One, unlucky not to take all three points on a carpert-like pitch at the Mid-Ulster Sports Arena.
From the first whistle Killymoon's second string took the game to their Lisburn counterparts. Good work by Scott and Stewart up front supported by Gomes and Burns on the flanks created several half chances. With Hall, Daly and Brown dominating midfield it was only a matter of time before Killymoon took the lead through Chris Burns from an acute angle after twenty minutes. A great save by Steadman in goal then saw Scott's drive well saved by Ballymacash's keeper after a good run by Gomes from twelve yards. Brown and Hall had drives from distance well saved just before half-time.
Into the second half the injured Gomes was replaced by Campbell on the wing. On the hour mark a misjudged ball by Smith bounced towards the Ballymacash striker who half volleyed an unbelievable drive over Steadman from nearly forty yards out. They then stole the lead ten minutes later with Killymoon all at sea from a quick corner. O'Neill replaced the hardworking Brown as managers Fluke and Warwick pushed for the equaliser. Pushing three up front they pummelled the opposition's last third. In the dying seconds a great cross from Campbell found three Killymoon men at the back post. A last ditch tackle, save and finally screwed shot from Rea gave the Lisburn all three points in a game they really didn't deserve to win. A great effort against a team which put ten goals past them in two fixtures last season.
