The Reserves got their first win of the season away to local Dungannon rivals White City on Wednesday evening with goals from Francisco Gomes and Kevin O'Neill.
With both sides strengthening their normal squads with a sprinkling of first team players Killymoon started the brighter dominating proceedings for the opening thirty minutes. Francisco Gomes produced a moment of magic after only fifteen minutes driving a thirty yard thunderbolt past the motionless City keeper. With pace and movement on the flanks in the guise of Gomes and Flanagan ably supported by the power of McMullan, Hall and Daly in central midfield Killymoon should have been a couple up with good chances falling to Stewart and Scott.
But as the game went on with Killymoon unable to kill off the opposition when dominant, White City threw caution to the wind and began to test the Reserve's resolve at the back. The defiant trio of Mark Freeburn and Brian and Kyle Smith eventually succumbed to a poor clearance with fifteen minutes left on the clock. Davis replaced the injured Hall before matchwinner O'Neill entered the frey. With possession and chances see-sawing from one side to the other Gomes and O'Neill should have finished the game off for Killymoon.
In the last minute of normal time a superb corner by Flanagan was met by O'Neill who nodded home with aplomb from ten yards. It was a deserved victory for the effort put in by the entire team.
