Killymoon Rangers Res 3
Ballyclare Comrades Res 2
Sat 16 January 2010, League

Killymoon Reserves produced a superb fight-back to defeat league leaders, Ballyclare Comrades Reserves, last Saturday and prove that they are a force to be reckoned with this season.
The visitors dominated the early exchanges with their pace on the wings causing the Rangers' defence some uncomfortable moments and proving why the are leading the league. Comrades took a deserved lead after fifteen minutes when Adam Muchalec upended their winger in the box and the same player fired home the spot kick. (0-1) Instead of disheartening Killymoon this seemed to galvanise a previously rusty team and they immediately put the visitors under pressure.
Two goals in as many minutes proved the turning point in the match. Firstly, Muchalec made up for his earlier mistake when he ran on to a through ball and finished left footed into the bottom corner of the net. (1-1) Then Stuart Donaghy doubled the lead with a goal of the season contender. Kyle Smith fired in a cross from the right and the striker produced a fantastic over-head kick to find the top corner of the net from twelve yards out and give Killymoon a half time lead (HT 2-1).
The expected backlash from the league leaders failed to materialise in the second half and it was Rangers who proved the better side. Muchalec and Donaghy both went close to extending their lead before veteran striker, Martin Bogan, headed a third twenty minutes from time (3-1). A late consolation goal from Ballyclare (3-2) produced some nervy moments in the dying stages but Killymoon held on for a deserved victory.
