Don Smyth suffered a blow to his squad at the start of the month when Warren Smith informed him that he would not be available for the first team again due to work commitments. Warren, who first came to the club as a goalkeeper in 1997, but made a name when he was converted to a centre forward becoming Killymoon’s all-time leading marksman, He regularly hit over 30 goals per season in the Mid-Ulster League and this season he is currently the second highest scorer in Championship 2 and third in all competitions. Warren had to overcome a bad leg break a number of years ago and on his first game back he scored 8 times against Mountnorris. Warren has been a great servant to the club and Don will have a difficult task finding a natural goalscorer to fill the void. Everyone at the club wishes Warren the very best as he takes over as manager of the new Asda store due to open in Antrim, but he has promised that he would still turn out for the club if he is available (and if he is selected).

WILLIAM MONTGOMERY
Everyone at Killymoon would like to wish former player and committee member a speedy recovery from his recent knee operation. William suffered the injury playing for Killymoon against Ballyclare Comrades last season and was forced into premature retirement. William is probably already contemplating pulling the boots back on if the operation is a success, but since his injury he has got married, so enjoy your retirement Willie!
